Rococo Nail Apparel Gold Leaf Nail Varnis

The elegant luster of the 18th century Versailles was the inspiration behind Rococo Gold Leaf.  It's a clear top coat containing large flecks of 24 carat gold leaf.  It can be worn alone, or layered over another color, elevating the color to another level.

I thought this would make for a perfect mani for New Year's Eve.  Why not kick-off the new year with a bang?

I layered two coats of Gold Leaf over a base of jet black, Wet n Wild Fast Dry Inkwell.

The gold really pops against the black.  The contrast makes for a very elegant look.  There's sort of a vintage feel to this mani, but yet still very current without looking old.

Application was a bit more challenging.  My brush was a little wonky, with a few bristles out of place.  It was a bit tough picking up the gold leaf with the brush.  Placing the gold leaf onto the nails also took some extra care, though not completely terrible.  However, the top coat formula was fantastic; so glossy and fast drying!  Beautiful, no?

Although it did take some extra effort, there's still no denying the results are so worth it!  It's quite striking and elegantly beautiful.  This is what I call pure luxury.  I will no doubt be wearing this when I go to Vegas!

  1. This reminds me of the time we went to Knott's Berry Farm, and panned for gold. The flakes looked just like this! So pretty, and looks great on black.
